KBRN, Jakarta: Kylian Mbappe has decided not to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer. The French national team star will join Real Madrid on a free transfer next season.

French media, L'Equipe, reported on Thursday (10/8/2023) that Mbappe has spoken with PSG president Nassef Al-Khelaifi and will complete the final year of his contract. Mbappe's decision has the potential to anger PSG as they do not want to lose him on a free transfer next year.

PSG will certainly want to sell Mbappe in the transfer market this summer to avoid losing him on a free transfer next year. However, the 24-year-old has informed PSG that he will not be moving to Real Madrid or any other club this summer.

Mbappe's decision to stay in Paris could see him join Real Madrid on a free transfer in the summer of 2024. PSG paid 180 million euros to bring him from AS Monaco in 2017, so losing Mbappe without a penny of compensation would be a serious blow to their financial situation.

Meanwhile, ESPN journalist Julien Lawrence reported on Thursday (10/8/2023) that PSG has prepared a penalty for this player's decision. Mbappe will be suspended from PSG's first team indefinitely.

PSG have confirmed that they will not play Kylian Mbappe at the Parc des Princes stadium tomorrow, Sunday (13/8/2023). Mbappe will not play in all PSG matches in August 2023.

PSG have now given Mbappe two options, either to extend his contract or sell him this summer. Mbappe has been given 15 to 31 August 2023 to respond.

If Mbappe does not change his mind within the specified period, PSG are said to be ready to suspend the player from the first team for an entire season. The player is said to be currently training with PSG exiles Leandro Paredes, Georginio Wijnaldum and Julian Draxler.

The France international striker has previously told Paris Saint-Germain that he will not extend his contract, which expires next year. PSG believe Mbappe has agreed a free transfer with Real Madrid in 2024.
