Muriannews, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inaugurated the International Football Federation (FIFA) office in Jakarta, Friday (10/11/2023). The inauguration was attended by FIFA President Gianni Infantino and PSSI Chairman Eric Tohir. Finance Minister Shri Mulyani Indrawati and Youth and Sports Minister Dito Ariotejo were present.

The location used as FIFA Office Jakarta is Menara Mandiri II, Jalan Jender Sudirman, Jakarta.

The office in question has the status of FIFA Permanent Office South Asia Hub or FIFA Permanent Liaison for South East Asia.

During the inauguration of the FIFA office in Jakarta, a memorandum of understanding was also signed between PSSI and FIFA. The MoU was signed directly by President Gianni and Eric Tohir.

President Jokowi hopes that the opening of the FIFA office in Jakarta will be the first step towards the great success of Indonesian football.

The president hopes to increase the quality of competition throughout Indonesia and inspire young people to achieve their dreams, be sporty and unite the world.

"With the existence of this office, I hope that there will be more FIFA events in Indonesia," said the president as he was welcomed by Gianni Infantino.

In his report, Gianni emphasized the need for strong leadership to develop football, such as that of President Joko Widodo.

"This has led to dramatic changes in Indonesian football in recent times. One of them is Indonesia's bid to host the 2023 U17 World Cup," he said.

Therefore, Gianni emphasized that his party is not just an office and work because of the presence of the FIFA office in Jakarta.

"We are determined to make this office bright and continue to beat every child who loves football. Of course you Mr. President will do well in football because I know you want to lift this country to the World Cup, right?" Gianni said.

The purpose of this agreement is to accelerate the development of football in Indonesia, which includes the establishment of a FIFA office in Jakarta.
