Montevideo, - Brazil are expected to be without captain Casemiro for their 2026 World Cup qualifier against Uruguay on Tuesday (17/10/2023) at the Estadio Centenario.

The Manchester United midfielder suffered an ankle injury in Brazil's 1-1 draw with Venezuela.

Although the injury is not believed to be serious, Casemiro is unlikely to feature against Uruguay.

His place can be replaced by Gerson, who will be paired with midfielder Bruno Guerres.
Guilherme Arana returns to his role as left back. However, Danilo suffered a muscle injury against Venezuela and had to make a change on the right side.

Danilo has left the camp and his replacement Yan Kuto is now set to start. Marquinhos and Gabriel Magalez are likely to feature in defensive midfield.

There are no changes in the front line. Rodrigo, Neymar and Vinicius Jr. support Richarlison's role.

Gabriel Jesus and Matthew Coonham are other options, although both could return from the bench.
